Mermod Freres Inlaid Rosewood Music Box 8 Airs 1890 – (Switzerland)

This Mermod Freres music box has the Jacots governor system that checks the speed of the cyclinder and also has a zither attachment activated by hand, which dulls the output of the music box to sound more like a guitar. Whilst the zither and its enjoyment is a matter of personal taste, not all music pinned on the cylinders was suited to this application and the ability to therefore turn it off, was welcomed by owners and listeners alike.
