Mechanical Music Through the Ages

A collection of Mechanical Music and Arcade Machines – highlighting examples of the development in mechanical entertainment over time.

Mike Munves 1933 – (USA)

This machine was made by the Mike Munves Manufacturing Corporation. Its operation required you to squeeze the “trigger” as hard as you can with one hand. The ball behind the glass tower rises with the pressure applied and rings a bell as it reaches each new level of strength. A person suffering from arthritis would not have a happy score. The machine cost operators US$65 and was considered a good money earner, especially where young men wished to show off their strength to their partners.
